The NRMHA provides
affordable housing to nearly 2,500 people in the City of New Rochelle.
Over 400 families, 200 seniors, and 200 disabled persons are housed
through the conventional public housing and section 8 housing programs.
Revenue and expenditures by the NRMHA exceed $4.4 million annually.
The NRMHA is a public governmental agency established under New
York State law. The operations of the Housing Authority are subject
to all applicable state laws, including the Open Meetings Act, and
state procurement requirements.
All meetings of the NRMHA are pursuant to public notice and are
open to the public. NRMHA certifies its financial statement annually
by an independent public audit. Policy for the NRMHA is set by the
seven member Board of Commissioners. Five of the Commissioners are
appointed by the City Manager and residents of NRMHA elect two resident
commissioners at large.
The NRMHA has a combined staff of 25 people.
